Can I Buy You A Cup of Coffee?
In my role as “Lead Geek” here at AppAssure, a big part of my job is what we’ll call advocacy – that is, representing the opinions and desires of the IT professional audience as a whole inside the company. Having been an IT Pro myself for many years, I feel relatively plugged in to the community, and fortunately, my job gives me the opportunity to talk with so many of you regularly on Twitter, Facebook, in community Well, now we have that chance. I’ll be attending the Connections conference in just a few weeks (November 9-12, 2009) in Las Vegas. If any of you plan to be there, drop me a line at leadgeek@appassure.com (or via Twitter at @appassure). I’d love the opportunity to meet up with as many of you as possible, buy you a cup of coffee, and just get a better feel for the projects you’re working on, the greatest challenges you’re facing, and so on. Hope to see you there! People are building data centers in a big way. The key difference between data backup and data archiving is that backups are designed for the rapid recovery of operational data, while an archive stores data that’s no longer in day-to-day use but must still be retained.
